Bard Support
Bard is an iOS songwriting app made by one person in Munich. If something is broken or confusing, email me and you will get a reply from me rather than from a queue.
Email: nick@nosheet.app
Please include your device model and iOS version. If you can say what you were doing when it went wrong, that usually saves a round trip.
Your songs live on your device
Bard has no accounts and no cloud. Songs, recordings, and settings are stored on your iPhone, and there is no copy on a server anywhere.
This has one consequence worth knowing before you need it: if you delete the App or lose your device, the songs go with it, and I cannot recover them. Export anything you want to keep, and make sure your device backs up to iCloud or a computer.
Subscriptions
Bard offers two annual plans:
- Bard Pro — $19.99 per year.
- Bard + NoSheet — $49.99 per year, which includes a full NoSheet subscription.
Already subscribe to NoSheet? Then Bard Pro is already unlocked. There is nothing to buy and nothing to enter — the two apps share a private identifier in your device Keychain, so Bard recognises a NoSheet subscription on its own. If it does not, tap Restore Purchases in Settings, and email me if that does not fix it.
Note that this works in one direction: a NoSheet subscription unlocks Bard, but Bard Pro on its own does not unlock NoSheet. The "Bard + NoSheet" plan is the one that covers both.
Managing or cancelling
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by me. To change or cancel one, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the renewal and leaves you subscribed until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds
Apple handles all refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. I have no ability to issue a refund myself, though I am happy to hear why you wanted one.
Restoring after a reinstall
Tap Restore Purchases in Settings. Your subscription is tied to your Apple Account, so it survives a reinstall — but your songs do not, because they were only ever on the device.
The free tier
Without a subscription you get 10 generated draws per week, up to 10 saved songs, and songs of up to 2 sections and 10 lines. Recording, playback, the chord and melody tools, and export are not metered.
A draw that fails is never counted against your weekly allowance.
Microphone
Bard needs the microphone to hear what you sing or play — that is how it finds where a melody sits in your voice and how it records takes. Audio is processed on your device and never uploaded.
If you denied the permission and want to turn it on, go to iOS Settings → Bard → Microphone.
Lyrics that do not arrive
The lyric feature is the one part of Bard that talks to the internet. If words never appear, check your connection first. If it keeps failing on a good connection, email me — a silent failure there is a bug on my side, and knowing about it is genuinely useful.
Deleting your data
Deleting the App removes your songs, recordings, settings, and the private identifier from your device. That is the whole of what Bard keeps about you locally.
Separately, I hold anonymous usage statistics and your subscription status against that random identifier. To have those deleted, email nick@nosheet.app and I will tell you what I need to find them. See the Privacy Policy § 9 for the full picture.
