Chord voicings where a note other than the root is in the bass
An inversion is a voicing in which a note other than the root is the lowest. Inversions enable voice leading: connecting chords through small movements rather than jumping between root positions. The chord keeps its character but takes on a different color depending on which note is in the bass.
