Scale
A noteset that is used melodically
A scale is a noteset used melodically, and a source of chords.
The major modes are the most important scales: seven-note scales that are maximally consonant within themselves and allow the greatest variety. Each note, or scale degree, has its own character and function. Their nesting structure means smaller notesets — triads, tetrads, and pentatonics — arise inside them.
NoSheet trains you to play scales non-linearly, through randomized melodies and chords, so you build real familiarity with the sound and position of each degree.
