What you're practicing
A chord is several notes at once — a root and the intervals above it — and the way its notes sit on an instrument is a voicing. The major and minor triads are about 80% of the chords in popular music, and they differ by one semitone: the third.

Any root, or the triads of a key by degree, which connects harmony to melody and lets you find a progression's chords anywhere. Then the loop: a progression plays, each chord's shape lit as it sounds — nothing to answer, play over it.
